DigiLocker is a key initiative under Digital India, the Government of India's flagship program aimed at transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Targeted at the idea of paperless governance, DigiLocker is a platform for issuance and verification of documents & certificates in a digital way, thus eliminating the use of physical documents. Nowadays, most  of the Indians having their own vehicle, especially those with two-wheelers, But sometimes we forget the licence or RC book on a  police checking.
The central government is introducing new app named Digilocker.  I think this is a better way solve this issue,  This app helps you to  digitalize your license  , R.C book etc... You can keep these identities on your mobile or tablet. This is also a step towards realising the prime minister’s Digital India drive. The law abiding citizens have a way out as the Centre has allowed a certified digital locker or an app that one can be downloaded onto the mobile phone to help store such documents.
How to get Digi Locker Account ?
Signing up for DigiLocker is easy - all you need is your mobile number.
  • Your mobile number will be authenticated by sending an OTP (one-time password) followed by selecting a username & password. This will create your DigiLocker account.
  • After your DigiLocker account is successfully created, you can voluntarily provide your Aadhaar number (issued by UIDAI) to avail additional services.
